Banana Bread


1 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. sugar
1/4 C. shortening
1 egg
3 ripe bananas
3/4 C. walnuts (optional)

Mix first six ingredients. Mash bananas and add them to the mixture. Add in optional walnuts. Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
